Tools & Materials
A closer look at the specialised tools and materials that make micro-crochet possible.
Crochet hooks vary in size — the smaller the hook, the finer the detail. All Chenora pieces are made with a delicate 0.4mm crochet hook. See the comparison of a 0.4mm hook vs a 3mm hook, which is commonly used for everyday projects like scarves, hats, or plush toys. Tiny hook, timeless art.
In crochet, thread and yarn are often numbered by thickness — the higher the number, the finer the thread. For example:
- No. 10 crochet thread is thicker and good for lace doilies.
- No. 40–80 thread is ultra-fine, used for tiny lace, tatting, or micro-crochet.
At Chenora, I use fine cotton yarns around No. 80, paired with my tiny 0.4mm hook, to create delicate, intricate pieces you won’t find every day.
I use coloured yarns when a consistent shade is needed, while white cotton yarn is hand-dyed with premium fabric dyes to create gentle gradients or natural variations — like the subtle shifts on flower petals.
Can you tell which of my pieces are made with dyed yarn and which with pre-coloured? 🌸✨

Hands at Work
A glimpse into the quiet moments where my creations come to life.
From a sun-drenched windowsill to a cozy café nook or a peaceful park bench - hands move to the gentle rhythm of crochet. Looping fine threads into tiny blossoms, wherever inspiration finds me. Every stitch is a quiet promise: that each piece is not just handmade, but hand-held, crafted with care, time, and a little bit of my heart. 🌿🧵✨
It may take hours to finish one tiny bloom, but that’s the charm. Thank you for valuing our slow craft.
